*Where Are You From?:: Fort McMurray, AB*Animal(s) (Age, Name, Breed)?:: Bagheera, 10 years old, DSH
*Interesting Facts About Your Animal(s)?:: He gets really excited when he hears the can opener (thinking he’s getting tuna), or when someone takes milk out of the fridge, chocolate milk especially!
*Animal(s) Favorite Treat?:: My Mighty Lion
*Animal(s) Favorite Trick?:: He will sit for treats.
*Perspective On Adopting A Rescue?:: There are so many animals who have for some reason or another, been left behind. It finally clicked after so many years of hearing Bob Barker telling the audience to spay and neuter their pets! Every animal deserves the chance to a warm home, with people who love them. Each has their own personality, and it is so exciting when a family is matched to a similar animal. I love seeing animals adopted that are considered the “least” adoptable. Whether it’s behavioural issues that need to be continuously worked on, or just a quirk they hold that some people don’t want to dedicate the time and effort too. Before Bagheera had been adopted, he had been declawed. That resulted in him being very shy, and uneasy around people. He still does not care for children, and becomes really nervous and hides. He is also a black cat, so he had a few things going against him as far as adaptability goes. He slowly but surely came out of his shell, and is much more social! He isn’t a lap cat, but loves to sit near people he loves. I’m so happy my sister made the decision to adopt him!

*Comments>:: I grew up with dogs, and had never been sure of cats. They seemed so unpredictable compared to dogs. When my sister first brought home her cat, I was so intrigued! Slowly, but surely Bagheera became my cat with dog like behaviours. He meets me at the door, and sleeps at the foot of my bed. I cannot imagine my day without him apart of it.
