*What is your position for your Animal Rescue/Shelter?
*Where are you located?
Bay G, 3851 21 Street NE Calgary
*Do you offer any awareness programs to your community?
Yes we have an education program, primarily for elementary, junior and senior high school students, and we also do presentations on request for other groups.
*How long has your Animal Rescue/Shelter been around for?
*What types of animals do you have at your Animal Rescue/Shelter?
We take in dogs, cats, and small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, some birds etc)
*If someone wanted to become a volunteer, how could they?
The best thing to do would be to visit our website www.aarcs.ca and read about the volunteer opportunities under the section called ‘Get Involved’.
*Do you have any fundraisers coming up that you want my viewers to know about?
We have our first annual Golf Tournament on May 29 and our Jail n’ Bail Fundraiser on September 20.
*What is the adoption process like?
The animals available for adoption can all be viewed on our website. If there is an animal you are interested in, you would submit and application form online and then the Adoptions Coordinator would connect you to the foster family to arrange a meet and greet.
*What does your shelter/rescue hope to achieve in 2014?
We just took possession of the warehouse bay next door and are hoping to turn this space into our ‘Kitty City’. To do this, we need donations to help us purchase temporary enclosure spaces for the kitties to stay in while they are waiting for their foster or forever homes!
