Yesterday; August 26th was the 10th celebration of #NationalDogDay! What did you do to celebrate with your dogs? Did you take them to their favorite park to play? Donate some items to your local animal shelter? Take them to a pet store to get some yummy new treats? Spend time cuddling with them while watching a movie? The #NationalDogDay website has some cool ideas for next year. Check them out here: http://www.nationaldogday.com/#!celebrate/cee5
Feel free to post a photo on our facebook wall: http://www.facebook.com/rescuemomblog because we love seeing your babies!!
I honestly didn’t do too much different yesterday as everyday is national dog day at our house! He always gets treats, and there is no shortage of love when I am home. Yesterday we watched some tv together and snuggled! Sometimes he sits there and looks so awkward as he really doesn’t like cuddling or anything but this time he seemed to enjoy it (he must have been too tired to fight back lol)
What does #NationalDogDay mean to you? According to Colleen Paige (the founder of NDD) National Dog Day (Also known as: International Dog Day & National Dog Appreciation Day) serves to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, and acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. Dogs put their lives on the line every day – for their law enforcement partner, for their blind companion, for a child who is disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and pulling victims of tragedy from wreckage. I love National Dog Day and you should too!!
