*Where are you from?
I am from Chicago but as a military brat I grew up all over the place.
*Tell me a little about yourself?
I’ve been married for over 21 years. My husband and I own a 1920s 2 story apartment building that we are STILL rehabbing. I lost my job at a large bank in 2008 and never returned to work full time. This is despite me finishing up my Bachelor’s degree, doing an internship with 20-year olds, completing a social media marketing certificate and internship then working as a part-time contractor for a pet products company.
*What is your blog called?
Dolly Doxie: A stubborn rescue mix living healthy in a big city. It’s not on my blog yet, should be in a few days. I am still in the process of rebranding from: Adventures of a Doxie mix rescue and the Lady she rescued.
*When did you start blogging?
*Why did you start blogging?
Long-term unemployment and boredom, then I adopted Dolly and she literally changed my life in a few months. I had done some blogging for the pet products company and decided to try it on my own. I loved to write so decided to write about my adventures with Dolly and how she was changing my life.
*How often do you blog? Is it a set schedule or random posts?
I am just coming off of a several week break due to major back surgery at the end of June. I am not quite back to blogging what I consider full-time, which is at least 5 – 7 days a week. I try to plan out some blogs a few weeks in advance depending on the APPA calendar, otherwise its random posts on what I do with Dolly or what blog hops I decide to join.
*What is your blog about?
I started blogging for fun and entertainment about my adventures with Dolly. With the new branding, based on a lot of what I had been writing about, it focuses on the human animal bond, urban dog fitness and pet health and safety along with product reviews and giveaways.
*Do you have any animals?
Yes, Dolly, she’s four years old, mostly Dachshund in personality, looks and characteristics. Until her I had always been a cat person having up to 3 at one time.

*What do you hope to achieve with your blog in 2014?
I am planning to focus more on pet health and safety by encouraging regular vet visits, and helping to spread the word against puppy mills which there has been a lot of regulation passed recently in Illinois, also to promote adoption from shelters and how I am keeping Dolly healthy and fit living in a large city.
*Have you ever attended any Blog Conferences? If so what ones and how was it?:
Yes, BlogPaws 2013 and BlogPaws 2014, and I’ve purchased a ticket to Barkworld but not sure I will go yet.
*What do you get inspiration from?
*Any advice for someone wanting to start their own Animal Blog?
I had no clue what I was doing when I started, there were blogs that started the same times as me or even after and they have done way more than I have. I would recommend having a self hosted site and to read other blogs.
*What are some of your favorite pet blogs to read?
Reilly and Denny
Molly the Wally
Oz the Terrier
*Do I have permission to copy this to my blog? Yes
*Do I have permission to use the photos you provided me with? Yes
**Thank you for stopping by my blog and I hope you enjoy reading about something I am very passionate about; being an animal advocate. If you enjoy my blog be sure to share it with your friends & family and check us out on other social media pages!
