Rolo and I are really excited for today’s pet product review! Did you know there was such a thing as tea for dogs? Seriously! I found them online as they were just about to launch their product at the Global Pet Expo (http://globalpetexpo.org) and have followed them ever since. As per their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/teaforspot) Tea for Spot is a 100% caffeine free, proprietary blend of tea, organic herbs & spices, and all-natural ingredients carefully crafted to provide your dog with the perfect cup of tea. NOW with Tea for Spot, you can enjoy a cup with your dog or even host your own doggie tea party.

Comments:
Rolo received some single serve bags of tea for our pet product review, the packaging was absolutely adorable! The  thing that stood out to me the most is that each different type of tea had its own colored bag. The writing on the tea was clear, legible fonts and had easy instructions on the backside.

Below is a photo of the actual tea tins and mug that Tea for Spot sells. One thing I love about the tea tins is that they are metal. Growing up I drank a lot of tea with my dad, and I still do. A lot of tea I have seen come in cheap looking paper boxes as well as plastic bags with plain labels on them. A tea tin is cute and not to mention can make a cute treat holder or collectable after it is empty. They are also adding 2 other types of cups & saucers to their collection too; plaid & zebra!

Smell

Comments:
After checking the mail, Rolo and I have a routine for opening packages adressed to us. I sit on the floor with him in the living room and we open it together. I took all the tea bags out and put them on the ground beside him. This was his reaction. Sniff, Sniff, Sniff, Sniff, Take, Try & Chew (he didn’t actually eat the tea bag, just stole it from the pile)

As I cant actually ask Rolo if he liked the smell of the product(I wish I could!) but by his reaction and sneakiness, I would have to say that he was definitely intrigued by the smell!

Taste Test

Comments:
Rolo enjoyed drinking his tea, of course he was wondering why I was giving him this yellow water in a soup bowl but he got used it it right away! For the taste test Rolo tried out the Daily Brew Blend. As per the Tea for Spot website (www.teaforspot.com): The Daily Brew is a great way to provide daily nutrients to your dog, this blend has a mix of ingredients rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, and essential oils
Contains: Rooibos*, Decaffeinated Green Tea*, Chicken, Turmeric*, Chicken Bone Broth, Basil*, Cranberries

Creativity of Product

Comments:
Rolo loves to drink water, more than any regular dog (another side effect of his phenobarbital medication for his Epilepsy). Having something different to give him that still refreshes him while tasting different than plain water is great! Can you believe Rolo has been drinking plain water for…many many years! Talk about boring, why not spice up your dogs taste-buds with some tea.

The Testing Process:
Just like the back of the tea bag suggests, I boiled water until it was just a smidge warmer than boiling. I added the tea bag to our teapot and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. I also added a few ice cubes to Rolo’s teacup. Tested the water with my finger before giving to Rolo as you of course do not want them to burn their mouths.

and just like that Rolo sat on the floor and enjoyed his cup of tea.

Final Thoughts:
I really like the thought of being able to share my regular tea/coffee time with Rolo and of course the added benefits of the tea is a lot easier than having to give your dog medications and supplements, just let them drink the water. Easy Peasy!  Below I have posted some information from the Tea for Spot website (www.teaforspot.com) about each blend they make.

We love Tea for Spot too. Bain was a little unsure at first, but now it’s gone by the end of the day. We’ve tried each tea, and I really love the benefits each blend offers.

As you mentioned, it’d be a lot of fun for both Bain and Rolo to have manly tea time! =)

This sounds really cool! I kind of wish tea for dogs existed when I was a little kid. Just imagine how fun it would have been to have a tea party with real tea! Lol

I completely Agree! I was trying to hard to find a princess tea set to use for the photos but I think Rolo called all the stores and told them to hide them..
