The First of July kicked off the PetSafe Pet Hydration Awareness Month. As PetSafe is all about Safe Pets & Happy Owners, we are bringing you a pet product review for one of their fabulous indoor/outdoor fountains. As per the PetSafe Infograph(at the bottom of the page); Did you know that 80% of your pets body is made up of water! Holy Moly! Your pet should be drinking 1oz of water per lb. Rolo is a water-o-holic. One of his Canine Epilepsy medication side effects is increased thirst and urination and I know he drinks a hefty amount of water! Sometimes he will even stand drinking water for 3-4 minutes straight.

Comments:
First off, this fountain is huge! It’s the perfect size for Rolo but I totally didn’t think it was going to be as big as it is. It was very easy to put together. I also love that inside there is a floating tube that you can choose which notch to put it on. That tells the fountain how much water you want in there and it will refill it automatically. Put it up on the highest notch and there will be lots of water in it, put it on the lower notch and there will be a couple inches of water.

Comments:
My most favorite feature on this fountain is that it auto refills itself if you have it outside with the water hose plugged in. I love that the pump circulates the water filtering and cleaning it as you can see the dot holes and line holes in the fountain. If you aren’t going to use it outside the fountain can also be used inside (with no water hose of course). It wont auto refill but it will circulate the water through the filters.

Key Features of the PetSafe Drinkwell Everflow Fountain:
-Fountain automatically refills when connected to a standard garden hose (when used outdoors)
-Built-in circulator improves aeration and helps filter trap more dirt and debris
-Anti-bite cord cover
-Made with UV-resistant, high-impact polysterene for outdoor use
-Included hose quick coupler makes setup a snap
-Best for large dogs or dogs who tend to spill or splash water
-Activated carbon and foam filters provide dual filtration
-Holds 1.5 gallons of water
-Made of BPA-free plastic
-For indoor or outdoor use

Testing Process:
Rolo has never had an outdoor fountain before, do you know how much he appreciated drinking outside! Especially because we are having super strange “Florida” weather here. Very humid and muggy. The fountain had ton of drinking space. Even enough room for two large dogs to drink out of it at the same time.

Final Thoughts:
Overall this water dish is very versatile. I really love that you can use it inside and outside! It’s easy to put together, doesn’t need a rocket scientist to figure it out. It’s also easy to clean, I just took a cloth and wiped it off. 1. Jane Chrestensen says:

Woohoo! I made it to the blog comments! :) Thanks for the awesome chance! We have our paws crossed.
We keep our babies cool with “cool” bandanas if we must be outdoors, lots of pool time and hose play time!

  2. Christine Aiello says:

I keep Coco cool by always having fresh water nearby for her, having her sit on a cooling mat and going swimming in the pool or staying in the house in the air conditioning!

  3. Jocelyn DeWeerdt says:

I keep my 6 cats and many fosters (all fixed of course) cool by having 2 water fountains full and available at all times. We have several trap, neuter and release cats around too. For them I’m looking into getting a cooling mat for outside and possibly add a third fountain just for them. Thank you for all that you do for rescues.

  4. Dolly the Doxie says:

These fountains are so cool mom really wants one bad now that there are two dogs and a cat. Love Dolly

  5. Taylor Hall-Tromp says:

I keep my boys cool using several things. We fill up their kiddie pool in the yard so they can get in and cool off if they want to play outside. I also recently got them some of the new Outward Hound water toys and they love them! They really enjoy the doggy drencher! Thank you for doing a giveaway!

  6. Amy Orvin says:

I keep my babies cool by keeping them indoors where it’s air conditioned. We are very spoiled. We have our AC set to 68 degrees year round. They also have fresh clean water to drink. They stay cool and comfortable every day.

  7. Jenn says:

I regularly make sure they have fresh water and I only take my dog outside for short periods of time when it is very hot outside.

  8. Marilyn Nawara says:

I leave fans on all over the house — we have 3 dogs and they all like to lay in front of the fans. If it gets over 85 we turn on the air to keep them cool — I prefer the heat but they like the air on.

  9. Donna L says:

Our kitty is an indoor cat. We leave ceiling fans on and he like to sleep on the floor tiles.

  10. Shelley P says:

I keep the dogs cool by making sure they have plenty of cold water and keep them inside with the A/C on. I also give them cold treats like pupsicles :)

  11. Ellen Beck says:

I give Odin ice water with cubes in it and sometimes freezze a toy or two in a block of ice. He is a black dog so I also try and not to take him out when it is the hottest out.
ntw this is ellen beck on form for some reason it is keeping me signed in as this name under wordppress.

  12. Melinda Stephens says:

We keep our house at a comfortable temperature and make sure they have fresh water.

  13. harleyrdk07 says:

We have a kiddy pool, but my one dog hates water. We also have cooling vest that you soak and then refrigerate, they keep the dogs cool for about an hour. I also keep the bedroom at 72* so the dogs are comfy.
