Today on our blog we are featuring Handicappedpets.com which is a company who specializes in products for our elderly, disabled or injured animals including but not limited to; wheelchairs, drag bags, boots, diapers, harness’, slings, splints, therapeutic vests and so much more! This place is a one stop shop! Their website is also filled with stories of hope and healing also including a big discussion area. It’s very important to know that there are options out there for your pet. A dear dog that I have known for a very long time who once was an adoptable at the FMSPCA, named Tripp just got a wheelchair so that he can enjoy outside walks with his dad!

HandicappedPets.com

*Who is filling out this interview?
Mark C. Robinson, Founder and President

*How long have you been with the company for?
15 Years

*How long has this business been around for?
15 Years

*Why was it started?
Because caretakers of disabled animals had no place to go for help and support. Their friends and neighbors would scoff, and think it was cruel to “keep the poor thing alive.” This was a place where they could talk to people who realized that their aging, injured, or handicapped pets were family and deserved a happy, healthy life. *Do you have any animals?
I wish I did! Dogs and Horses. Someday! For now, this global, growing shift in consciousness around animals requires I travel a great deal. That, and the fact that I’m single, would make me a poor pet-parent.

LucyandLicense*What do you specialize in?
I guess my specialty is in “listening.” I listened carefully when pet caretakers were discussing their challenges and telling me what they need. Handicapped Pets was built to give them what they told me they needed. My other specialties include computer systems and building businesses – both of which were invaluable in creating Handicapped Pets.

*What makes your different from other companies?
At HandicappedPets.com, we believe that our aging, disabled, and injured pets are family and deserve happy, healthy lives. We’re committed to this in everything we do. Our signature product, the Walkin’ Wheels is the only wheelchair that is so adjustable that it can be ordered without taking complex measurements, and ships same day. *What types of services do you offer?
We provide over 250 products for aging, injured, and disabled animals. We endeavor to provide everything you need to care for them.

*What is the company’s mission?
There is a global awakening to the value of life. People around the world are caring for their animals like family. Our mission is to support this and provide people with the products and information they need to care for aging, injured, and handicapped pets.

largebanner-final*What is the price range?
The price range of our dog wheelchairs is $199.00 to $450.00. Keep in mind, though, that a Walkin’ Wheels keeps its value. It’s so adjustable that it can be re-sold to another caretaker. We have a website UsedDogWheelchairs.com to support that.

*What inspires you?
One of my favorite videos, and this can be seen on the website, is a dog named Denali. He came to us having been unable to walk for 6 months. He got in a Walkin’ Wheels and immediately dashed off across the parking lot. A month later, we took a video of Denali hiking through the woods with his family and jumping in the water to play and chase sticks. My business is about family – and I love that!

minibanner-final*What do you plan to accomplish with your business in 2015?
In 2015 we expanded our international sales dramatically, reaching thousands of dogs around the world. We designed several new products including our wheelchair compatible lifting harness, the no-knuckling training sock, and more.

*Do you do any charity work?
I founded and am currently on the board of the Handicapped Pets Foundation, a 501c3. A portion of our proceeds go to the foundation.
