Well Hello Hello Hello! We are back to blogging after a week or so long break. I swear I have a really good excuse! If you follow us on social media, you all know I was pregnant with my first biological child due May 30th. This past month has been crazy to say the least but I am so thankful for everything that people have done for us. We were evacuated from our house in Fort McMurray, Alberta in early May due to the wildfires (just google for a wide plethora of information regarding it) and we have migrated to southern British Columbia to my mom’s house for the time being. Well on May 31st I gave birth to our little girl;
We are now onto the next exciting chapter of our lives; living in the house with a brand new baby! I became a step-mother in November 2009 to an adorable, just over a year old little boy named Cameron. In 2011, our family grew and we adopted Rolo! Rolo has never been a fan of kids, I blame this on his upbringing and past but I was determined to work on it without making him uncomfortable and to tell you the truth he has done well so far! I know his cues, I know when he is uncomfortable and I will never push him. We work together as a team! Rolo was never a snugly dog, although he now does appreciate a good cuddle from me! (only took a few years to get him to turn around). Leaving for the hospital was one of the hardest things I had to do, not because I was scared of the delivery, being in a hospital or the needles, I was concerned for my dog. Rolo has Epilepsy and most of his seizures are triggered by anxiety. I was admitted into the hospital on May 30th and didn’t leave the hospital until June 2nd. Those 3 nights away were long but! Rolo did not have any seizures while I was away. One thing I did was snuggle in bed with a blanket so it smelled like me. Well let’s meet baby!
I purchased a “Mini Rolo” for Tenley and brought it to the hospital, since Rolo was likely not allowed to visit her. When we arrived home Rolo greeted us in the driveway, as if he hasn’t seen me in an eternity. We brought Tenley inside and let Rolo sniff her and to my surprise he licked her head! (2nd photo his tongue was just going back inside his mouth). It’s going to take a while for him to get used to her but well it’s going to take me a while to get used to having a baby too! So we are both in the same boat. I cant wait to see them bond on this new chapter in our lives. Stay tuned for an abundance of photos on our social media.
Love you all,
~Kimberley & Rolo
