Orthopedic, easy to assemble, durable, chew-proof and easy to clean! These are just a few selling points that put Kuranda Dog & Cat Beds at the top of our must have list (and you should too!). Kuranda was established back in 1987 (a great year I might add, as I was born that year) and they have been producing high quality beds that have been filling homes and animal shelters ever since! Rolo’s former shelter; the Fort McMurray SPCA is a big supporter of Kuranda. If you walk into any of the dog or cat kennels you will find a Kuranda bed in each stall. Also inside the cat room you can find towers made from Kuranda beds that allow the cats to lounge in while they roam around out of the cages. We were so excited when we were given the opportunity to review one! Find out what we thought of it below!

This loft styled dog bed is perfect for getting your pet elevated and off the ground. With the bed being elevated it keeps Rolo up off the ground or the hard flooring while inside. It evenly distributes his weight which eases his “old man” joints and allows air to flow freely all around him. Now lets talk installation! With only 8 nuts & bolts to install it was super easy to assemble, I didn’t even need any help! With it being so easy to install, it makes it easy to take apart in case you want to disassemble it to bring it somewhere else.

Like I mentioned above, we love how this is a loft style bed, which gets Rolo up off the ground easing his joints. We all know Rolo sometimes has problems with his joints so this bed is perfect for him and his aging body. I love that you can also purchase a fleece topper for the bed which adds even more comfort to the bed. Rolo choose to also add his handmade blanket from his grandma. As you can see! No pillow required on this bed for this DIVA dog!

Although I am very happy that Rolo isn’t or has never been a chewer, if you have a chewer in your family, the Kuranda bed frame is CHEW-PROOF! The frames are made from poly-resin (**What is Poly-Resin? See Below). There is also a UV resistant finish put onto the frames that makes them resist fading along with stainless steel fasteners used for strength and are corrosion resistant. With the Kuranda beds you can also choose not only the type of frame but also the fabric for the bed that suits your pets needs. See below for the different types of fabrics available.**Poly-resin one of the forms of resin materials that are especially flexible when heated. This quality makes it the ideal material to use in any instance where molds are used to great goods. Because it dries to a durable material that is virtually unbreakable. Types of Fabrics available for the Kuranda Beds;
Heavy Duty Vinyl Our most durable option, ideal for determined diggers and larger, heavier dogs.
Outdoor Mesh Great for outdoor use, the open waterproof weave allows air and
water to flow through, helping dogs stay cool and dry.
Smooth Nylon Abrasion resistant high-denier nylon but with a smooth finish.
Textured Nylon This canvas is ideal for older dogs as it provides plenty of traction getting on and
off the bed. It’s also the best fabric choice for dogs with sensitive skin or allergies.
